The curiosity of a four-year-old and the thrill of unwrapping gifts drowned out everything else. In the end, the evening served as a reminder that love often blossoms in the midst of chaos.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sentences and fragments follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>11:30<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong> I\u2019m cleaning my father\u2019s apartment. A hopeless case; it won\u2019t get better, only slightly less neglected.<br>I can\u2019t work miracles, nor do I want to. I can\u2019t change people, nor do I want to. I can\u2019t save people from themselves, nor do I want to. But I do know that every day, it\u2019s possible to make the world a slightly better place.<br>Today, for instance, by brushing away tangled cobwebs and dusting forgotten corners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tags from social media:<br><\/strong> The tree is up, where are the ornaments, Xanax, snow, gale-force winds, transportation issues, weight gain, display photos, pitifully funny, quotes about love, stylized graphics, power outage, cable TV not working, scandals, child, abuse, archdiocese, fired priests, no priest available, just the two of us, we have a cat, tears, hidden, sunglasses, life in Paphos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>12:45<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong> The cousin? Are you serious?! The cancer has spread? They didn\u2019t notice until now?! And her daughters?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>13:09<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong> &#8220;We\u2019ll be there to pick you up by five.
