October 10, 2023<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the end of the season approaches, I’ve started writing summaries. Throughout the day, I jot down various thoughts on small pieces of paper. I’ll arrange them side by side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s dangerous to have the alarm go off at seven when I woke up around four in the morning, but only managed to fall asleep at one. I was tired, as usual. Being awake at midnight is nothing new, as I have until nine to sleep. This time, not for the first, I slept for only about three hours. Probably yesterday’s six coffees didn’t help either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don’t understand why there are so many changes in the kitchen in the last month of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The chef girl is gone. I will miss her. I will miss her easy-going attitude towards things. I like it when in someone’s company, I forget to be anxious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fridge is empty, but I need to cook for the staff. Maybe I could invent instant water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Often it seems as if people like me. Often some women behave towards me as if they were interested. Then these same women choose some rogue for themselves. It’s a good thing you don’t have to understand women, but love them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But now, I have a separate room again. With the contracts of two more girls from the entire staff expiring, my former roommate also got her own room. Looking ahead, I’ll be fussy. I’ve outgrown the age when I find dormitory life acceptable. If I don’t have a home, let there be this much private space so I can close the door behind me. So next time, I’d rather live in a tent than with anyone else. Unless that person is my fianc\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s interesting that I’m not worried at all about whether I’ll have a job or money in the future. I’ve applied for a few positions on the Riviera. A colleague says St. Tropez would be boring for me because it’s the playground of the super-rich. I think my life is already so rich in stimulation that sometimes I long for control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you have a Plan B, there’s no need to worry. In my case, Plan B is Budapest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are two colleagues I’m going to send a message to on their very last day: If you ever need a diligent kitchen helper, feel free to write. I’d be happy to work with you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En approchant de la fin de la saison, j’ai commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 r\u00e9diger des r\u00e9capitulatifs. Pendant la journ\u00e9e, je griffonne des pens\u00e9es sur de petits morceaux de papier. Je vais les organiser c\u00f4te \u00e0 c\u00f4te.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il serait dangereux d’avoir le r\u00e9veil qui sonne \u00e0 sept heures, car je me suis r\u00e9veill\u00e9 vers quatre heures du matin, mais je n’ai r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 m’endormir qu’\u00e0 une heure. J’\u00e9tais fatigu\u00e9, comme d’habitude. \u00catre \u00e9veill\u00e9 \u00e0 minuit n’est rien de nouveau, j’ai jusqu’\u00e0 neuf heures pour dormir. Cette fois-ci, ce n’est pas la premi\u00e8re fois, j’ai dormi seulement environ trois heures. Probablement que les six caf\u00e9s d’hier n’ont pas aid\u00e9 non plus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je ne comprends pas pourquoi il y a tant de changements dans la cuisine au cours du dernier mois de la saison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La fille du chef est partie. Elle va me manquer. Son attitude d\u00e9contract\u00e9e envers les choses va me manquer. J’aime quand en compagnie de quelqu’un, j’oublie d’\u00eatre anxieux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le frigo est vide, mais je dois cuisiner pour le personnel. Peut-\u00eatre que je pourrais inventer une eau instantan\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il semble souvent que les gens m’appr\u00e9cient. Souvent, certaines femmes se comportent envers moi comme si elles \u00e9taient int\u00e9ress\u00e9es. Puis ces m\u00eames femmes choisissent un voyou pour elles-m\u00eames. Heureusement, il ne faut pas comprendre les femmes, mais les aimer!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pourtant, maintenant – \u00e0 nouveau – j’ai une chambre s\u00e9par\u00e9e. Maintenant que les contrats de deux autres filles de tout le personnel ont expir\u00e9, mon ancienne colocataire a aussi eu sa propre chambre. En regardant vers l’avenir, je vais \u00eatre exigeant. J’ai d\u00e9pass\u00e9 l’\u00e2ge o\u00f9 je trouve la vie en dortoir acceptable. Si je n’ai pas de chez moi, alors autant avoir autant d’espace priv\u00e9 pour que je puisse fermer la porte derri\u00e8re moi. Donc la prochaine fois, je pr\u00e9f\u00e9rerais vivre sous une tente que avec quelqu’un d’autre. Sauf si cette personne est ma fianc\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C’est int\u00e9ressant, je ne suis pas du tout inquiet de savoir si j’aurai du travail ou de l’argent \u00e0 l’avenir. J’ai postul\u00e9 pour quelques postes sur la C\u00f4te d’Azur. Un coll\u00e8gue dit que St. Tropez serait ennuyeux pour moi car c’est le terrain de jeu des super-riches. Je pense que ma vie est d\u00e9j\u00e0 tellement riche en stimulation que parfois je d\u00e9sire d\u00e9j\u00e0 le contr\u00f4le.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quand on a un Plan B, il n’y a pas de quoi s’inqui\u00e9ter. Dans mon cas, le Plan B, c’est Budapest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il y a deux coll\u00e8gues \u00e0 qui je vais envoyer un message le tout dernier jour : Si vous avez besoin \u00e0 tout moment d’un aide de cuisine diligent, n’h\u00e9sitez pas \u00e0 \u00e9crire. Je serais ravi de travailler avec vous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
