no problem, I\u2019m not rushing anywhere.<br>Early in the afternoon I met a lovely girl in the Longchamp district; since I\u2019m there, I check out the park\u2014at least from the outside.<br>Behind it is the zoo, and in front the famous fountain encircled by steps.<br>On the terrace, a strawberry cake spoils me.<br>In recent weeks my earphones \u201cfell ill,\u201d because they couldn\u2019t swim when I dropped them into the sea.<br>The service center spoke to me a bit dismissively and grudgingly just now, which I can understand, since we both know it\u2019s costlier to repair than to buy new.<br>In the end he tossed in that I should get a copy of the receipt from the retailer, and then we could try a warranty repair\u2014since the product is supposedly splash-proof.<br>I don\u2019t hold out hope either for getting the receipt copy or for a cost-free repair; but I\u2019d be foolish not to try.<br>I bought it in Arles; next week I\u2019ll go back to the seller.<br>So today I set off to explore this beautiful city.<br>At the Boulanger store I find not only enthusiastic staff but a decent selection as well.<br>Until now the Fnac network was my favorite\u2014until now&#8230;<br>Muttering to myself, I say out loud: let\u2019s hurry to pay before I change my mind!<br>The guy couldn\u2019t have heard it, but I think he saw it on me, and told me not to queue; I can pay with him too; that\u2019s a good deal for him as well, because he sold me insurance with it.<br>Given that the earbuds I mourned a few hours ago weren\u2019t the first device not to die a natural death with me, insurance might pay off.<br>Dinner sourced from the supermarket\u2014you can\u2019t get cheaper than that.<br>Distance: 12 km.<br>Duration: 90 minutes.<br>From downtown I move along the shore, all the way to the last beach at the city\u2019s edge, which is already a green zone.<br>I watch the crimson-pink sunset over the water from the bus.<br>I arrive at the foot of Sam\u00e9na Hill, drop my bag, and immediately run to swim\u2014before it gets dark.<br>A hallmark of this place is that the sea is always wavy, so here I don\u2019t dare risk a night swim (I\u2019m afraid it would slam me against a sharp rock), though others are gearing up for it.<br>I\u2019m already reading in the hammock when I see fireworks over the water to the west of Marseille, then I delight in a drone light show over downtown.<br>After all, tomorrow is the Feast of Mary, which here is treated as a serious day of rest.<br>End-of-day journal<br>What do I feel? Pleasant tiredness.<br>Plans for Friday? The alarm rings at six; maybe I\u2019ll swim; work in the morning; a small beach in the afternoon; in the evening there\u2019s a street party in Maussane.<br>What do I need? Rest; I should take a short nap in the afternoon.<br>Other thought-fragments? I hope the storm avoids me; from the beach I can see the sky has opened twenty kilometers away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Petites joies \u00e0 Marseille<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Un jeudi sans grandes histoires, mais rempli de petites joies.<br>Fl\u00e2nerie urbaine, achat impulsif, baignade apr\u00e8s le coucher du soleil et jeux de lumi\u00e8re nocturnes : voil\u00e0 la journ\u00e9e.<br>Notes d\u2019un voyageur press\u00e9 d\u2019atteindre la mer, et pourtant sans h\u00e2te.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Marseille, 2025-08-14, jeudi<br>Je n\u2019ai pas de grande histoire \u00e0 raconter sur le jeudi, seulement de petites joies.<br>Promenade dans une ville agr\u00e9able, une fontaine splendide, un achat irr\u00e9fl\u00e9chi, une baignade apr\u00e8s le coucher du soleil, une nuit \u00e0 la belle \u00e9toile, avec des feux d\u2019artifice lointains et un spectacle de drones.<br>M\u00eame pendant mon jour de repos, le r\u00e9veil sonne \u2013 \u00e9videmment, car je veux atteindre la mer aujourd\u2019hui.<br>P.-S. : C\u2019est ce qui s\u2019est pass\u00e9 \u2013 au coucher du soleil.<br>J\u2019attrape le train de midi ; pas de probl\u00e8me, je ne suis press\u00e9\u00b7e de nulle part.<br>En tout d\u00e9but d\u2019apr\u00e8s-midi, j\u2019ai rencontr\u00e9 une fille sympathique dans le quartier Longchamp ; puisque j\u2019y suis, je vais voir le parc \u2013 au moins de l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur.<br>Derri\u00e8re se trouve le zoo, et devant la fameuse fontaine entour\u00e9e d\u2019escaliers.<br>Sur la terrasse, un g\u00e2teau \u00e0 la fraise me dorlote.<br>Ces derni\u00e8res semaines, mes \u00e9couteurs sont \u00ab tomb\u00e9s malades \u00bb, car ils ne savaient pas nager quand je les ai laiss\u00e9s tomber dans la mer.<br>Le service apr\u00e8s-vente m\u2019a parl\u00e9 d\u2019un ton un peu condescendant et r\u00e9ticent \u00e0 l\u2019instant, ce que je peux comprendre, puisque nous savons tous les deux qu\u2019il est plus cher de r\u00e9parer que d\u2019acheter du neuf.<br>\u00c0 la fin, il a tout de m\u00eame l\u00e2ch\u00e9 que je devrais obtenir une copie de la facture aupr\u00e8s du commer\u00e7ant, et alors on pourrait tenter une r\u00e9paration sous garantie \u2013 le produit \u00e9tant cens\u00e9 \u00eatre \u00e9tanche aux \u00e9claboussures.<br>Je ne me fais gu\u00e8re d\u2019illusions, ni pour obtenir la copie de facture, ni pour une r\u00e9paration gratuite ; mais je serais bien b\u00eate de ne pas essayer.<br>Je l\u2019ai achet\u00e9 \u00e0 Arles ; la semaine prochaine, je retournerai voir le vendeur.<br>Alors aujourd\u2019hui, je pars \u00e0 l\u2019assaut de cette belle ville.<br>Chez Boulanger, je trouve non seulement des vendeurs enthousiastes, mais aussi un choix correct.<br>Jusqu\u2019ici, le r\u00e9seau Fnac \u00e9tait mon pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9 \u2013 jusqu\u2019ici&#8230;<br>En marmonnant, je dis tout haut : d\u00e9p\u00eachons-nous de payer avant que je ne change d\u2019avis !<br>Le gars ne pouvait pas l\u2019entendre, mais je pense qu\u2019il l\u2019a lu sur mon visage, et m\u2019a dit de ne pas faire la queue ; je peux payer avec lui aussi ; bonne affaire pour lui, car il m\u2019a vendu une assurance avec.<br>Partant du fait que les \u00e9couteurs pleur\u00e9s il y a quelques heures n\u2019\u00e9taient pas le premier appareil \u00e0 ne pas mourir de mort naturelle chez moi, une assurance peut \u00eatre rentable.<br>D\u00eener achet\u00e9 au supermarch\u00e9 \u2013 on ne fait pas moins cher.<br>Distance : 12 km.<br>Dur\u00e9e : 90 minutes.<br>Depuis le centre, je longe le littoral jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la derni\u00e8re plage aux limites de la ville, d\u00e9j\u00e0 en zone verte.<br>Je regarde le coucher de soleil pourpre-rose au-dessus de l\u2019eau depuis le bus.<br>J\u2019arrive au pied de la colline de Sam\u00e9na, je pose mon sac et je cours aussit\u00f4t nager \u2013 avant la nuit.<br>Particularit\u00e9 du lieu : la mer y est toujours agit\u00e9e ; ici, je n\u2019ose pas tenter la baignade de nuit (j\u2019ai peur d\u2019\u00eatre plaqu\u00e9\u00b7e contre un rocher tranchant), m\u00eame si d\u2019autres s\u2019y pr\u00e9parent.<br>Je lis d\u00e9j\u00e0 dans le hamac quand j\u2019aper\u00e7ois des feux d\u2019artifice au-dessus de l\u2019eau, \u00e0 l\u2019ouest de Marseille, puis j\u2019admire un spectacle lumineux de drones au-dessus du centre-ville.<br>Apr\u00e8s tout, demain c\u2019est la f\u00eate de Marie, qui est ici un vrai jour de repos.<br>Journal de fin de journ\u00e9e<br>Que ressens-je ? Une agr\u00e9able fatigue.<br>Plans pour vendredi ?
