I\u2019d seen several that day, so I simply wasn\u2019t in the mood to look more closely.<br>I thought I\u2019d come back today, along with the rest of the building\u2019s material.<br>But that\u2019s where it turned out that my pass isn\u2019t unlimited: I can enter each exhibition only once.<br>So from Saturday I remember that in about half of the images the model was nude, but \u2013 of course \u2013 they weren\u2019t erotic.<br>I also clearly remember that whoever made the work is a very skilled photographer; because of that I\u2019ll definitely return.<br>I read the description on the website; they use words like feminist, gentle, intimate.<br>Yes, thinking back, I do remember the richness of emotion.<br>A pity it ended up missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Van Gogh Cultural Space: Louis Stettner<br>The man above has sadly passed away; he was a fairly famous photographer.<br>They showed a selection from his pictures taken on the streets of New York and Paris.<br>These are simply good photographs!<br>I felt good while looking at people in the most varied life situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Van Gogh Cultural Space: Todd Hido<br>Right there I jotted down that these look like paintings!<br>I loved this, too!<br>Here the photos are mainly of nature and urban houses.<br>Some of the nature shots were taken through a car window \u2013 you can even see the raindrops.<br>All I can say \u2013 as with Kourtney Roy\u2019s show on Saturday \u2013 is that this really hit home for me!<br>If I were a photographer, this is the kind of work I\u2019d want to make.<br>He plays with colors, contrasts, and rounded edges.<br>From his images, the world we live in comes across as a very interesting place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Former M\u00e9jan Church: Letizia Battaglia<br>\u201cPhotography becomes the telling of life: I slip into a photograph that is the world; in other words, I become the world, and the world becomes me.\u201d<br>She is a woman living in Sicily who mainly photographed the 1960s, 70s, and 80s.<br>One defining word for Sicily then was \u201cmafia,\u201d but there are also romantic images of couples, portraits of women, angry factory workers, pregnant and postpartum women.<br>In every case it\u2019s artistic, powerful, yet not oppressive.<br>Yes, these are beautiful and impactful images.<br>I was surprised, because this venue used to host very abstract material.<br>From this photographer\u2019s life\u2019s work, the everyday lives of small people oppressed by the mafia emerge very clearly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">titre fran\u00e7ais<br>Arles, Les Rencontres de la Photographie \u2013 festival photo, lundi 01.09.2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">introduction fran\u00e7aise<br>Parfois, m\u00eame l\u2019exposition que nous n\u2019avons pas vue nous accompagne.<br>Apr\u00e8s avoir arpent\u00e9 Arles, je garde \u00e0 la fois le manque et la profusion.<br>Une journ\u00e9e, quatre expositions, beaucoup d\u2019histoires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">texte principal en fran\u00e7ais<br>Arles, Les Rencontres de la Photographie \u2013 festival photo, lundi 01.09.2025<br>Espace culturel Van Gogh : Erica Lennard<br>Je suis d\u00e9j\u00e0 rentr\u00e9 de ma fl\u00e2nerie.<br>Aujourd\u2019hui, j\u2019ai m\u00eame aim\u00e9 l\u2019exposition que je n\u2019ai pas vue \u2013 comme celle-ci (d\u2019Erica Lennard).<br>Ce qui s\u2019est pass\u00e9, c\u2019est que samedi apr\u00e8s-midi j\u2019\u00e9tais d\u00e9j\u00e0 pass\u00e9 dans cette salle.<br>C\u2019\u00e9tait la \u00e9ni\u00e8me s\u00e9rie sur des femmes nues ce jour-l\u00e0 ; j\u2019en avais vu plusieurs, donc je n\u2019avais tout simplement plus l\u2019envie de regarder de plus pr\u00e8s.<br>Je me suis dit que je reviendrais aujourd\u2019hui, en m\u00eame temps que le reste des expositions du b\u00e2timent.<br>C\u2019est l\u00e0 que j\u2019ai d\u00e9couvert que mon pass n\u2019\u00e9tait pas illimit\u00e9 : on ne peut entrer qu\u2019une seule fois dans chaque exposition.<br>De samedi, je me souviens qu\u2019environ la moiti\u00e9 des images montraient des mod\u00e8les nus, mais \u2013 bien s\u00fbr \u2013 ce n\u2019\u00e9taient pas des images \u00e9rotiques.<br>Je me souviens aussi tr\u00e8s clairement que, qui que ce soit, c\u2019est un photographe tr\u00e8s habile ; pour cela, je reviendrai certainement.<br>J\u2019ai lu la description sur le site ; on y emploie des mots comme f\u00e9ministe, doux, intime.<br>Oui, en y repensant, je me rappelle la richesse \u00e9motionnelle.<br>Dommage de l\u2019avoir manqu\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Espace culturel Van Gogh : Louis Stettner<br>L\u2019homme en question est malheureusement d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 ; c\u2019\u00e9tait un photographe assez c\u00e9l\u00e8bre.<br>Ils ont pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 une s\u00e9lection de ses images prises dans les rues de New York et de Paris.<br>Ce sont tout simplement de bonnes photos !<br>Je me suis senti bien en regardant des gens dans les situations de vie les plus diverses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Espace culturel Van Gogh : Todd Hido<br>Sur place, j\u2019ai not\u00e9 que cela ressemblait \u00e0 des tableaux !<br>J\u2019ai ador\u00e9 celle-ci aussi !<br>Ici, les photos montrent surtout la nature et des maisons urbaines.<br>Certaines prises de vue de nature ont \u00e9t\u00e9 faites \u00e0 travers la vitre d\u2019une voiture \u2013 on voit m\u00eame les gouttes de pluie.<br>Comme pour l\u2019exposition de Kourtney Roy samedi, celle-ci m\u2019a vraiment touch\u00e9 !<br>Si j\u2019\u00e9tais photographe, c\u2019est ce genre d\u2019images que je voudrais faire.<br>Il joue avec les couleurs, les contrastes et l\u2019arrondi des bords.<br>D\u2019apr\u00e8s ses images, le monde dans lequel nous vivons est un endroit tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ancienne \u00e9glise M\u00e9jan : Letizia Battaglia<br>\u00ab La photographie devient le r\u00e9cit de la vie : je glisse dans une photo qui est le monde ; autrement dit je deviens le monde, et le monde devient moi. \u00bb<br>C\u2019est une femme qui vit en Sicile et qui a surtout photographi\u00e9 les ann\u00e9es 60, 70 et 80.<br>\u00c0 cette \u00e9poque, un mot d\u00e9finissait la Sicile : la mafia ;
