Monday\u2013Tuesday\u2013Wednesday.<br>We\u2019re just after a pleasant festival in Arles.<br>In the mornings I work, in the garden or at the sink.<br>The bosses leave me alone, and I don\u2019t take advantage of the quiet; I work diligently.<br>In the evenings I bike over to the neighboring village \u2014 just to get out a bit\u2026<br>Anyway, the landscape is pretty, the weather is pleasant.<br>2025 Sep 18 Thu.<br>Off to the beach at Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer!<br>I\u2019m going there because the fare is only \u20ac1.10.<br>I swim; the water is pleasant.<br>After a fruit-only lunch I nap in the sand.<br>In the evening there\u2019s a concert at the Paddy Pub, but I don\u2019t much feel like staying; I\u2019m a bit tired and bored of solo programs.<br>2025 Sep 19 Fri.<br>Saintes-Maries again, because a low budget matters today too.<br>To celebrate, I buy sunglasses at the market, right there and the exact same model as a year ago \u2014 the one I loved that broke in the spring.<br>Besides that I spend only on a stale melon and two beers.<br>At night there\u2019s a jam session at the Hanky-Tank bar \u2014 I enjoy it a lot, but I\u2019m yawning hard, so there\u2019s no point in staying.<br>Another good day!<br>2025 Sep 20 Sat. Les Baux-de-Provence.<br>There\u2019s a jazz festival in Saint-R\u00e9my \u2014 my boundless enthusiasm is dampened by the forty-euro ticket.<br>There are free programs before and after, but in the evening I have to close the hotel terrace, so either I get back early or leave late for the festival; which means the free time slots at the jazz fest don\u2019t really work.<br>In the afternoon I scraped the company car just as the owner lady watched it happen.<br>Only minor scratches, but still \u2014 right in front of the boss.<br>I did an extra hour of overtime because she asked me to drive it to another hotel.<br>Meanwhile she says it\u2019s important to her that I be here next season as well.<br>She knows I\u2019d be happy too \u2014 if they kicked the head of housekeeping out of the hotel, which won\u2019t happen.<br>In the afternoon I took a huge nap, even though the day wasn\u2019t tiring.<br>My body probably notices that I sleep little at night.<br>My sleep habits are completely balanced; they repeat like clockwork: every day I close the pool, and in the morning I open it.<br>So I never go to bed before midnight, but the alarm rings at six.<br>The plan is to move the terrace closing a bit earlier and switch off the reading lamp by eleven at the latest.<br>Of course I\u2019ll make exceptions for the occasional good concert.<br>Maybe if I sleep at eleven, I can get seven hours \u2014 even if that\u2019s radically early for me.<br>Seven hours of sleep was already enough for me at thirty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La barre est haute, des jours tranquilles<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ces deux derni\u00e8res semaines, peu de choses ont franchi mon seuil de stimulation \u2014 non par ennui, mais parce que la barre est haute.<br>De petits rythmes, des balades \u00e0 v\u00e9lo, la mer, un peu de musique : voil\u00e0 de quoi mes jours sont faits en ce moment.<br>Notes autour d\u2019Arles, de Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer et des Baux-de-Provence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ces deux derni\u00e8res semaines, peu de choses ont atteint mon seuil de stimulation.<br>Cela ne veut pas dire que ma vie est ennuyeuse, mais que la barre est plac\u00e9e haut.<br>2025 sept. 15\u201316\u201317. lundi\u2013mardi\u2013mercredi.<br>Nous sortons d\u2019un agr\u00e9able festival \u00e0 Arles.<br>Le matin je travaille, au jardin ou \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9vier.<br>Les patrons me laissent tranquille, et je ne profite pas de la situation paisible ; je travaille consciencieusement.<br>Le soir, je traverse \u00e0 v\u00e9lo jusqu\u2019au village voisin \u2014 juste pour me d\u00e9gourdir un peu\u2026<br>Au demeurant, le paysage est beau, le temps est agr\u00e9able.<br>2025 sept. 18 jeu.<br>Direction la plage de Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer !<br>L\u00e0-bas parce que le trajet ne co\u00fbte que 1,10 \u20ac.<br>Je nage ; l\u2019eau est agr\u00e9able.<br>Apr\u00e8s un d\u00e9jeuner compos\u00e9 de fruits, je dors dans le sable.<br>Le soir, concert au Paddy Pub, mais je n\u2019ai pas tr\u00e8s envie de rester longtemps ; je suis un peu fatigu\u00e9 et je me lasse des programmes en solo.<br>2025 sept. 19 ven.<br>Saintes-Maries encore, car le petit budget compte aujourd\u2019hui aussi.<br>Pour f\u00eater \u00e7a, j\u2019ach\u00e8te des lunettes de soleil au march\u00e9, exactement les m\u00eames que l\u2019an dernier \u2014 ce mod\u00e8le que j\u2019aimais beaucoup et qui s\u2019est cass\u00e9 au printemps.<br>\u00c0 part \u00e7a, je ne d\u00e9pense que pour un melon un peu pass\u00e9 et deux bi\u00e8res.<br>Le soir, jam session au bar Hanky-Tank \u2014 j\u2019adore, mais je b\u00e2ille fort, donc inutile de rester.<br>Encore une bonne journ\u00e9e !<br>2025 sept. 20 sam.
