with hand tools I can\u2019t do more than that.<br>To celebrate, I head into town.<br>There\u2019s only one venue I haven\u2019t visited from the summer photo festival.<br>I saw another strong show.<br>In the evening I had dinner by the riverbank.<br>Then I concluded that although autumn isn\u2019t very cold here, biking is pretty drafty.<br>I might start wearing a heavy coat.<br>Saint-R\u00e9my, Wed, Sept 24, 2025.<br>Today\u2019s work is a continuation of road repairs.<br>Two-thirds of the estate\u2019s roads are now usable, but my colleagues perceive only that the day\u2019s work isn\u2019t \u201cpretty.\u201d<br>I can\u2019t achieve better results; we\u2019d need fresh limestone from the quarry, but I only got promises.<br>I replaced the washed-out gravel with bauxite-red limestone.<br>It may not be aesthetic, but the road would be good if we had a roller; still, it\u2019s already straight where I raked the top.<br>The result isn\u2019t flashy, but I\u2019m proud of myself.<br>In the late afternoon I head over to Saint-R\u00e9my.<br>I love this little town.<br>I think for the rest of the season I\u2019ll come here rather than to Arles.<br>I\u2019ll probably be fixing roads on Thursday as well.<br>In the evening I\u2019ll come back to Saint-R\u00e9my again, have a beer, read, or simply enjoy the town.<br>On Friday the festive week starts in Saint-R\u00e9my \u2014 I\u2019m looking forward to it; avec des outils manuels, je ne peux pas faire davantage.<br>Pour f\u00eater \u00e7a, je vais en ville.<br>Il ne me reste qu\u2019un seul lieu du festival photo d\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e0 visiter.<br>J\u2019ai encore vu une excellente exposition.<br>Le soir, je d\u00eene sur la berge.<br>Puis je constate que, m\u00eame si l\u2019automne n\u2019est pas tr\u00e8s froid ici, le v\u00e9lo, lui, prend bien le vent.<br>Je mettrai peut-\u00eatre un manteau \u00e9pais.<br>Saint-R\u00e9my, mer. 24 sept. 2025.<br>Le travail du jour : poursuivre la r\u00e9paration des chemins.<br>Les deux tiers des voies du domaine sont d\u00e9sormais utilisables, mais mes coll\u00e8gues ne retiennent qu\u2019une chose : le r\u00e9sultat du jour n\u2019est pas \u00ab beau \u00bb.<br>Je ne peux pas faire mieux ;
