Ezek egyik el\u0151zm\u00e9nye az, hogy elhat\u00e1roztam: nem k\u00edv\u00e1nok bar\u00e1tkozni olyan emberekkel, akik nem szimpatikusak sz\u00e1momra.<br>Term\u00e9szetesen tov\u00e1bbra is egy\u00fcttm\u0171k\u00f6d\u00f6m mindenkivel, \u00e9s teljes\u00edtem minden koll\u00e9ga munkahelyi k\u00e9r\u00e9s\u00e9t. I reveal what I see and feel: the breakdowns of hierarchy, unspoken conflicts, tension among staff. One employee\u2019s voice in a place where saying is no longer enough \u2014 one must also be heard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ENGLISH TEXT<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Who is the hotel manager?<\/strong><br>Now I will talk openly about my workplace.<br>First I show a July letter I never sent, then I\u2019ll bring a few more recent stories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Who is the hotel manager?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dear Madam,<br>To my question above and to this letter I expect no answer. I merely wish to describe some unsolicited observations I have about the hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I am certain that in recent weeks, and in the coming months, problems will be raised concerning my work performance. One origin of these is that I have resolved not to befriend people who are not sympathetic to me.<br>Of course, I still cooperate with everyone and fulfill every colleague\u2019s work request, but it is possible that there is a colleague with whom I will discuss only the work itself.<br>And since that person is among those who direct the daily life of the hotel, I am sure that henceforth every mistake I make will be made visible.<br>I accept this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, I will fight so that every colleague\u2019s time spent on coffee breaks, smoking, or unnecessary walks will also be recorded \u2014 so that it becomes clear that my work is no more or less than that of any average coworker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For example, there is a colleague whom everyone knows is first found on the staff terrace.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There is a female colleague who does not have to be searched for: if one stands in the courtyard, within ten minutes she either passes by or is heard.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I have also learned that in the morning, when I empty the ashtray, I must take care not to discard a half\u2011smoked cigarette, because there will always be a colleague who shows up for it within fifteen minutes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The other day, when I was working in the dishwashing area, I counted that a colleague passed in front of my workbench thirty\u2011nine times in one shift \u2014 yet I saw no work tool in their hand. But I would recognize their phone at any moment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To tell the truth, I have no complaint about my colleagues\u2019 work. Nor about those I do not wish to befriend. We can cooperate. My only goal is to place my own results in context and argue that I am in no way more or less than other colleagues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There was one week when I did not see the front desk manager working, yet her tasks were nevertheless completed.<br>I like every member of the reception staff, and their manager too; I point this out only to suggest that perhaps one salary could still be saved in this hotel \u2014 even if not at the reception desk.<br>After all, someone who takes many breaks receives pay; someone who is often seen walking the hotel grounds also receives pay.<br>I believe that if each colleague only tended to their own work and focused only on it, perhaps in summer there would be no need to hire more staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Again, I pose poetic questions to which I expect no answer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Who is the true manager of the hotel?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do the hotel managers \u2014 with the noblest intentions \u2014 have the opportunity to form objective positions?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is every colleague aware of the workplace hierarchy?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Does each colleague know exactly what their responsibilities are?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Does everyone know from whom to seek support on particular topics?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Does information flow well among colleagues?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(My knowledge is as follows: I have, for instance, multiple \u201csuperiors.\u201d In the morning and evening, regarding the cleaning of terraces and sofas, I collaborate with reception; during the day with the room attendants and maintenance; when I work in the dishwashing area I follow orders from the head chef. My responsible superior is the hotel director. Every morning I coordinate with maintenance about the day\u2019s tasks and with whom I will work.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With this letter I meddle in matters that are not my responsibilities.<br>In truth, I expect no reply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We solve problems that do not even exist. Why run pointless circles?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We don\u2019t need to solve the problems \u2014 just not let them show.<br>The pool\u2019s water is becoming so foul that a guest with sensitive skin might begin itching.<br>Algae growth, however, is an immediate issue \u2014 so one is told to dump in some extra bleach so that by morning they disappear.<br>They should have drained the pool once a year and cleaned the walls properly \u2014 then the water would not require so many chemicals, and the algae would not receive so much nourishment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People no longer dare speak to me because sometimes I communicate in the tone used in the pool paragraph above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last week one day, someone ate the pasta that had been set aside for a guest.<br>This is theft \u2014 even if it was not clearly labeled in the fridge.<br>Nonetheless, when staff were asked by circular to account for the incident, I replied in a circular to the bosses:<br>\u201cSurely this is the most important issue of the day.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Poor director, I have answered him rudely more than once, and I regret it.<br>He is used by the owner, the reception, and housekeeping to convey or ask unpleasant things.<br>I no longer have patience for such games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yesterday they released the maintenance girl. From today she is on leave, and in November her contract also ends.<br>In the remaining three weeks I will substitute for her if there is any urgent repair needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My only concern is that in the next three weeks, the building does not collapse \u2014 or at least does not appear to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I too am planning my move.<br>I predict five years. Je souhaite seulement exposer quelques observations non sollicit\u00e9es concernant l\u2019h\u00f4tel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Je suis certain que ces derni\u00e8res semaines, et dans les mois \u00e0 venir, \u00e9mergeront des probl\u00e8mes relatifs \u00e0 mon travail. L\u2019une des causes en est que j\u2019ai d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de ne pas me lier d\u2019amiti\u00e9 avec des personnes qui ne me sont pas sympathiques.<br>Bien s\u00fbr, je collabore toujours avec tous et j\u2019ex\u00e9cute chaque demande de travail de mes coll\u00e8gues, mais il est possible qu\u2019il y ait un coll\u00e8gue avec lequel je ne parlerai que du travail lui-m\u00eame.<br>Et comme cette personne fait partie de celles qui dirigent la vie quotidienne de l\u2019h\u00f4tel, je suis persuad\u00e9 que d\u00e9sormais chacune de mes erreurs sera visible.<br>Je l\u2019accepte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De plus, je me battrai pour que le temps pass\u00e9 par chaque coll\u00e8gue \u00e0 boire un caf\u00e9, fumer ou faire des promenades inutiles soit \u00e9galement consign\u00e9 \u2014 afin qu\u2019il soit clair que mon travail n\u2019est ni plus ni moins que celui de tout autre coll\u00e8gue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Par exemple, il y a un coll\u00e8gue que tout le monde sait trouver d\u2019abord sur la terrasse du personnel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Il y a une coll\u00e8gue que l\u2019on n\u2019a m\u00eame pas besoin de chercher : si l\u2019on se tient dans la cour, en dix minutes elle passe ou on l\u2019entend.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>J\u2019ai aussi appris que le matin, lorsque je vide le cendrier, je dois faire attention \u00e0 ne pas jeter une cigarette \u00e0 moiti\u00e9 fum\u00e9e, car il y aura toujours un coll\u00e8gue qui se manifestera dans les quinze minutes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>L\u2019autre jour, en travaillant \u00e0 la plonge, j\u2019ai compt\u00e9 qu\u2019un coll\u00e8gue est pass\u00e9 devant mon plan de travail trente\u2011neuf fois en un quart de journ\u00e9e \u2014 pourtant je n\u2019ai vu aucun outil de travail dans sa main.
