I\u2019m packing, tidying the garden, shutting down tanks, while my head is already somewhere else. One bag on my back, one on the handlebars \u2013 that\u2019s pretty much what my life has been distilled into right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I carry on packing: garden furniture, tidying up the rubbish bins, last checks of the tennis court and terraces. I\u2019ve started shutting down the thousand-litre hot-water tanks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The owner\u2019s husband lets me know that they switched on the outdoor lights last night; in winter they want to make it look as if the hotel isn\u2019t empty. I wonder if it has occurred to them that the garden gate can\u2019t be locked. Anyway, that\u2019s no longer my problem \u2013 this isn\u2019t my problem anymore either. I don\u2019t want to do a bad job, not even in my last week, but I no longer have any real interest in working.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the evening I hop on my bike. One bag on my back, one on the handlebars. In my room I only keep what I absolutely need for the next few days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Monday, 03\/11\/2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les derniers jours tenus dans un sac \u00e0 dos<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Il ne reste plus que quelques jours, quelques objets et quelques derni\u00e8res v\u00e9rifications avant que je referme d\u00e9finitivement le portail de l\u2019h\u00f4tel derri\u00e8re moi. Je range, j\u2019organise le jardin, j\u2019arr\u00eate les cuves, pendant que ma t\u00eate, elle, est d\u00e9j\u00e0 ailleurs. Un sac sur le dos, un autre accroch\u00e9 au guidon \u2013 c\u2019est \u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s \u00e0 cela que ma vie se r\u00e9sume en ce moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Je continue le rangement : meubles de jardin, organisation du local poubelles, dernier contr\u00f4le des courts de tennis et des terrasses. J\u2019ai commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 arr\u00eater les cuves d\u2019eau chaude de mille litres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le mari de la propri\u00e9taire m\u2019indique que c\u2019est eux qui ont allum\u00e9 les lampes ext\u00e9rieures hier soir ; ils veulent donner l\u2019illusion, en hiver, que l\u2019h\u00f4tel n\u2019est pas vide. Je me demande s\u2019ils se rendent compte que le portail du jardin ne peut pas \u00eatre ferm\u00e9 \u00e0 cl\u00e9. Peu importe, ce n\u2019est plus mon probl\u00e8me, plus vraiment. Je ne veux pas b\u00e2cler le travail, m\u00eame pendant ma derni\u00e8re semaine, mais je n\u2019ai d\u00e9j\u00e0 plus grand int\u00e9r\u00eat \u00e0 travailler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le soir, je monte sur mon v\u00e9lo.
