Mint p\u00e9ld\u00e1ul: s\u00f6t\u00e9ts\u00e9g lesz ok n\u00e9lk\u00fcl, egy varrod\u00e1b\u00f3l \u00e9tterem lesz; a gy\u00e1rigazgat\u00f3b\u00f3l meg elv\u00e1lt csillag\u00e1sz. Tett\u00e9k mindezt az\u00e9rt, hogy egy ilyen s\u0171r\u0171 t\u00f6rt\u00e9net k\u00e9t \u00f3r\u00e1ban elmes\u00e9lhet\u0151 legyen. Az eredm\u00e9ny egy meghat\u00f3 v\u00edgj\u00e1t\u00e9k, gy\u00f6ny\u00f6r\u0171, hozz\u00e1ill\u0151 zen\u00e9vel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">K\u00edv\u00e1ncsi lenn\u00e9k, aki nem olvasta a k\u00f6nyvet, nem ismeri a kimaradt jeleneteket, az mit \u00e9rz\u00e9kel a filmb\u0151l. Azt gyan\u00edtom, mindenkinek is \u00e9lvezhet\u0151, hisz a humora akkor is \u00e1tj\u00f6n; a sz\u00f6vegek m\u00e9ly tartalma pedig m\u00e9g jobban \u00e1tj\u00f6n a k\u00e9pi vil\u00e1gnak k\u00f6sz\u00f6nhet\u0151en.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ez nem elvont, ez nem filozofikus, ez nem szomor\u00fa, ez nem vid\u00e1m; ez izlandi, ahol a dolgok egyszerre humorosak, meghat\u00f3ak \u00e9s elgondolkodtat\u00f3ak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ja, \u00e9s itt a film v\u00e9g\u00e9re az emberek egy nagyon picit v\u00e1ltoznak, ez\u00e1ltal a vil\u00e1g sokkal jobb hely lesz, mint amilyen volt. Depths<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a small Icelandic village, darkness falls for no reason, a tailor shop turns into a restaurant, and the factory director becomes a divorced astronomer. The chapters arrive like linked short stories\u2014funny, tender, and quietly philosophical without ever turning heavy. Then the film reshuffles the timeline, keeps the lyricism, and somehow leaves the world a little better by the end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">English body<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Summer night, and then night descends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>When did I read it?<\/strong><br>Over the past two years, about once every four months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019re in Iceland, in a small village where strange things happen. For instance: darkness appears for no reason, a tailor shop becomes a restaurant; and the factory director turns into a divorced astronomer. We follow the life of a small village\u2014chapter by chapter, each one bringing a new story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What is the book about?<\/strong><br>It\u2019s hard to put into a single word. These are reflections\u2014sometimes funny, sometimes emotional. I really like this style, written in a slightly short-story-like way. The chapters connect, because we get to know the motivations of the same community, again and again, from new angles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What I love most is how it lifts you into philosophical depths while staying easy to understand. I like it when something is humorous and still makes you think. Very few can do that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Who is the main character in this novel?<\/strong><br>Maybe nature itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We start at the tailor shop, then we meet, among others, the team at the agricultural produce store; we peek into the life of a police station; we tumble into a dance where the part-time guitarist loses his virginity behind the curtain. The lover of the village beauty returns from a trip around the world. A shy farmer agonizes until he finally loses the love he never even dared to speak to. And another farmer ends up in a very close relationship with the neighbor woman\u2014so much so that the cuckolded wife, out of revenge, sets the car on fire too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And by the end, everyone makes peace with everyone, while we\u2014between scattered jokes\u2014end up moved to tears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019d give this guy a Nobel Prize!<br>Hurghada, 2026.01.09.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The moment I saw the poster, I bought a ticket to the film made from my favorite book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They completely rearranged the timelines compared to the book. But they kept the beautiful script. They left out several characters and rewrote a few scenes\u2014so that such a dense story could be told in two hours. The result is a touching comedy, with gorgeous, fitting music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019m curious what someone feels who hasn\u2019t read the book and doesn\u2019t know the missing scenes\u2014what they pick up from the film. In the cinema I couldn\u2019t really tell, because there were only three of us in the fourteen-seat room (in the small theater at Puskin Cinema). My guess is it works for everyone: the humor still comes through, and the deeper meaning of the text comes through even more thanks to the visuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This isn\u2019t abstract, this isn\u2019t philosophical, this isn\u2019t sad, this isn\u2019t cheerful; this is Icelandic\u2014where things are humorous, moving, and thought-provoking all at once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And yeah: by the end of the film, people change just a tiny bit, and that makes the world a much better place than it was. In the book, the characters don\u2019t change (except the factory director at the start of the novel). But by the end of reading, we accept them as they are\u2014and that, too, makes the world a much better place than it was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Budapest, 2025.11.12. Tuesday<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Nuits islandaises, profondeurs l\u00e9g\u00e8res<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dans un petit village d\u2019Islande, l\u2019obscurit\u00e9 tombe sans raison, une mercerie devient un restaurant, et le directeur d\u2019usine se transforme en astronome divorc\u00e9. Les chapitres s\u2019encha\u00eenent comme des nouvelles reli\u00e9es, dr\u00f4les et bouleversantes, avec une philosophie qui reste toujours accessible. Puis vient le film : chronologie bouscul\u00e9e, m\u00eame po\u00e9sie \u2014 et, \u00e0 la fin, on dirait que le monde est un peu meilleur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Texte fran\u00e7ais<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nuit d\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9, puis la nuit descend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Quand l\u2019ai-je lu ?<\/strong><br>Au cours des deux derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, environ tous les quatre mois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nous sommes en Islande, dans un petit village o\u00f9 il se passe des choses \u00e9tranges. Par exemple : l\u2019obscurit\u00e9 arrive sans raison, une mercerie se transforme en restaurant ; et le directeur d\u2019usine devient un astronome divorc\u00e9. On suit la vie d\u2019un petit village : chapitre apr\u00e8s chapitre, avec \u00e0 chaque fois une nouvelle histoire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>De quoi parle le livre ?<\/strong><br>Difficile \u00e0 dire en un seul mot. Ce sont des r\u00e9flexions, parfois dr\u00f4les, parfois \u00e9mouvantes. J\u2019aime beaucoup ce style, \u00e9crit de fa\u00e7on un peu \u201cnouvelle\u201d. Les chapitres se r\u00e9pondent, puisqu\u2019on d\u00e9couvre les motivations de la m\u00eame communaut\u00e9, encore et encore, sous des angles diff\u00e9rents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ce que je pr\u00e9f\u00e8re, c\u2019est la mani\u00e8re dont le livre nous emporte vers des profondeurs philosophiques tout en restant facile \u00e0 comprendre. J\u2019aime quand quelque chose est dr\u00f4le tout en faisant r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir. Peu de gens y parviennent !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Qui est le h\u00e9ros de ce roman ?<\/strong><br>Peut-\u00eatre la nature elle-m\u00eame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On part de la mercerie, puis on rencontre, entre autres, l\u2019\u00e9quipe du magasin de produits agricoles ; on entre dans la vie d\u2019un commissariat ; on atterrit dans un bal o\u00f9 le guitariste occasionnel perd sa virginit\u00e9 derri\u00e8re le rideau. L\u2019amoureux de la beaut\u00e9 du village rentre de son tour du monde. Un fermier timide h\u00e9site si longtemps qu\u2019il finit par perdre, pour de bon, l\u2019amour \u00e0 qui il n\u2019a m\u00eame jamais os\u00e9 adresser la parole. Un autre fermier, lui, se retrouve dans une relation tr\u00e8s \u00e9troite avec la voisine\u2014\u00e0 tel point que l\u2019\u00e9pouse tromp\u00e9e, par vengeance, met le feu \u00e0 la voiture aussi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Et \u00e0 la fin, tout le monde se r\u00e9concilie avec tout le monde, et nous, entre des blagues \u00e9parses, on se laisse \u00e9mouvoir jusqu\u2019aux larmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Je donnerais un prix Nobel \u00e0 ce type !<br>Hurghada, 2026.01.09.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">D\u00e8s que j\u2019ai vu l\u2019affiche, j\u2019ai achet\u00e9 un billet pour le film tir\u00e9 de mon livre pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ils ont compl\u00e8tement r\u00e9organis\u00e9 les lignes temporelles par rapport au roman. En revanche, ils ont gard\u00e9 le magnifique sc\u00e9nario. Ils ont supprim\u00e9 plusieurs personnages et r\u00e9\u00e9crit certaines sc\u00e8nes\u2014pour qu\u2019une histoire aussi dense puisse tenir en deux heures. Le r\u00e9sultat : une com\u00e9die \u00e9mouvante, avec une musique splendide, parfaitement adapt\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Je me demande ce que ressent quelqu\u2019un qui n\u2019a pas lu le livre, qui ne conna\u00eet pas les sc\u00e8nes supprim\u00e9es : qu\u2019est-ce qu\u2019il per\u00e7oit du film ? Dans la salle, je n\u2019ai pas pu le savoir, car nous \u00e9tions seulement trois dans une petite salle de quatorze places (dans la petite salle du cin\u00e9ma Puskin). Je soup\u00e7onne que c\u2019est agr\u00e9able pour tout le monde : l\u2019humour passe de toute fa\u00e7on, et la profondeur du texte passe encore mieux gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l\u2019univers visuel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ce n\u2019est ni abstrait, ni \u201cphilosophique\u201d, ni triste, ni joyeux ; c\u2019est islandais\u2014l\u00e0 o\u00f9 les choses sont \u00e0 la fois dr\u00f4les, touchantes et d\u00e9routantes au bon sens du terme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Et puis oui : \u00e0 la fin du film, les gens changent un tout petit peu, et ainsi le monde devient un endroit bien meilleur qu\u2019il ne l\u2019\u00e9tait. Dans le livre, les personnages ne changent pas (sauf le directeur d\u2019usine au d\u00e9but du roman).
