I’ve had a busy week, so I’m piecing together memories of my day off on October 1st based on hastily scribbled notes throughout the day. So, this won’t be a coherent text. Rather, just a collection of experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is it possible to capture scents in a photograph? I wrote this line at the top of the castle while strolling among the rosemary bushes. Imagine the Visegr\u00e1d Castle above Szentendre! Got it? Now I’ll tell you why this area is called the White Valley, because the monotony of vibrant green hills is often punctuated by limestone rocks that make it look like a postcard. Marvelous. They no longer mine bauxite here. Yet, the name \u00ab\u00a0bauxite\u00a0\u00bb originated from the fact that it was first mined in the town of Baux (here). The valley is surrounded by enormous limestone mountains, and if you bend down, the earth is slightly reddish. The landscape, both from above and below, is like a movie set. (And indeed, they often shoot movies here.) Amongst vast olive groves are romantic Provencal houses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I climbed to the top of the castle, and I didn’t even feel like taking photos because there’s no technology that can convey the experience. The gentle breezes that bring the scent of roadside capers closer, the lavender hedge mixed with rosemary, the sigh of reaching the mountaintop, the excitement of zooming back down. It’s good to be here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Hungary, you can tell if a stretch of road is old just by looking at it. Worn out, weathered. Here, you can tell if a stretch of road is older because they write on it. At most, they widen the newest roads just enough to add a bike lane on one side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, indeed, I write everything in two languages. I come from there, I’m heading towards that, and I’m dirty halfway between.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He tells me I’m gossipy. Is he using the terms correctly? Let’s make it clear, I don’t distort information. I simply don’t have secrets. However, he is right in saying that I don’t keep information to myself. I’ll have to think about this. I can’t decide if it’s a real problem. When someone says these things about me, someone who doesn’t talk about their feelings, or anything really. How can I help myself if I don’t talk? How could anyone know what’s going on with me if I don’t tell them? I also want to emphasize that just because I don’t have secrets doesn’t mean others don’t. Other people’s confidential information, those are other people’s private matters. If they share it with me, I consider it an honor, but no one else’s secret has leaked from me. It’s a different matter if they told me, then there will be at least one more person on Earth who knows… But I understand public opinion. Obviously, I would also be suspicious of the talkative guy first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe I should notice that I don’t pay attention to people. At all. And I wrote this sentence so automatically that I didn’t even notice. I didn’t pay attention. Interesting. There’s something to ponder about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to my own family, I feel they keep their distance. (Which undoubtedly has historical reasons as well.) There was even a conversation where I just narrowly avoided being called an arrogant prick. Well, of course, this is an extreme example. Here, however, they welcome you. Just as you are. They might not understand, but that’s not a consideration for them. They accept. They embrace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

J’ai eu une semaine charg\u00e9e, donc je rassemble les souvenirs de ma journ\u00e9e libre du 1er octobre \u00e0 partir des notes griffonn\u00e9es en h\u00e2te tout au long de la journ\u00e9e. Donc, ce ne sera pas un texte coh\u00e9rent. Plut\u00f4t une collection d’exp\u00e9riences.
Peut-on photographier les odeurs d’une mani\u00e8re ou d’une autre ?
J’ai \u00e9crit cette phrase en haut du ch\u00e2teau pendant que je me promenais parmi les buissons de romarin. Imaginez le ch\u00e2teau de Visegr\u00e1d au-dessus de Szentendre ! Vous y \u00eates ? Alors je vais vous dire pourquoi cette r\u00e9gion est appel\u00e9e la vall\u00e9e blanche, car la monotonie des collines verdoyantes vives est souvent ponctu\u00e9e de rochers calcaires qui la rendent semblable \u00e0 une carte postale. Merveilleux. On n’exploite plus la bauxite ici. Pourtant, le nom \u00ab\u00a0bauxite\u00a0\u00bb vient du fait qu’elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 d’abord extraite dans la ville de Baux (ici donc). La vall\u00e9e est entour\u00e9e d’\u00e9normes montagnes calcaires, et si vous vous penchez, la terre est l\u00e9g\u00e8rement teint\u00e9e de rouge. Le paysage, vu d’en haut ou d’en bas, ressemble \u00e0 un d\u00e9cor de film. (Et en effet, on tourne aussi des films ici.) Entre de vastes oliveraies se dressent de romantiques maisons proven\u00e7ales.
Je suis mont\u00e9 au sommet du ch\u00e2teau et je n’avais m\u00eame pas envie de prendre des photos car il n’y a pas de technologie qui puisse restituer l’exp\u00e9rience. Les brises l\u00e9g\u00e8res qui rapprochent les odeurs des c\u00e2pres au bord de la route, la haie de lavande et de romarin entre les mains, le soupir en atteignant le sommet de la montagne, l’excitation de la descente en fl\u00e8che. C’est bon d’\u00eatre ici.
En Hongrie, vous savez qu’une portion de route est ancienne quand vous la regardez. Us\u00e9e, d\u00e9fra\u00eechie. Ici, vous savez qu’une portion de route est plus ancienne quand on y \u00e9crit dessus. Au maximum, ils \u00e9largissent les routes les plus r\u00e9centes juste assez pour ajouter une piste cyclable d’un c\u00f4t\u00e9.
Oui, en effet, j’\u00e9cris tout en deux langues. Je viens de l\u00e0-bas, je vais vers l\u00e0-bas, et je suis sale \u00e0 mi-chemin entre les deux.
Il me dit que je suis bavard. Utilise-t-il correctement les termes ? Disons-le clairement, je ne d\u00e9forme pas l’information. Je n’ai tout simplement pas de secrets. Cependant, il a raison de dire que je ne garde pas l’information pour moi. Je vais devoir r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir \u00e0 cela. Je ne peux pas d\u00e9cider si c’est un vrai probl\u00e8me. Quand quelqu’un dit ces choses \u00e0 mon sujet, quelqu’un qui ne parle pas de ses sentiments, ni de rien d’ailleurs. Comment pourrais-je m’aider si je ne parle pas ? Comment quelqu’un pourrait-il savoir ce qui se passe avec moi si je ne lui dis pas ? Je tiens \u00e9galement \u00e0 pr\u00e9ciser que le fait que je n’ai pas de secrets ne signifie pas que les autres n’en ont pas. Les informations confidentielles des autres, ce sont les affaires confidentielles des autres. Si elles me les confient, je consid\u00e8re cela comme un honneur, mais aucun secret des autres ne m’a jamais \u00e9chapp\u00e9. C’est une autre question si on me l’a dit, alors il y aura au moins une personne de plus sur Terre qui le sait… Mais je comprends l’opinion publique. \u00c9videmment, je serais aussi le premier \u00e0 soup\u00e7onner le type bavard.
Peut-\u00eatre que je devrais remarquer que je ne fais pas attention aux gens. Pas du tout. Et j’ai \u00e9crit cette phrase de mani\u00e8re tellement automatique que je ne l’ai m\u00eame pas remarqu\u00e9. Je n’y ai pas fait attention. Int\u00e9ressant. Il y a mati\u00e8re \u00e0 r\u00e9flexion.
