At Flixbus,<\/strong>
the system works similarly: if you don’t pay, the system tells you where to sit, and it’s not always pleasant. Today, we already know that even on planes, it’s more of a guideline, but on a bus that is already crowded (because there’s also a tactic to check occupancy), I have no desire to negotiate and end up sitting in the factory-assigned last row again. I have a subjective statistic: quieter, less odorous passengers are generally towards the front of the bus. So, I agreed to pay an extra three euros to sit in the first three rows. Of course, the driver immediately explained – as on every bus – that the first three rows were closed. I then showed him my receipt. After that, he left me alone. Because he also knows exactly that, according to the rules, everyone sits where their ticket indicates, and the system doesn’t assign seats in the first three rows. So, even if every driver took the trouble to check from time to time where people are sitting, no one would end up \u00ab\u00a0on their backs.\u00a0\u00bb Because Flixbus’s audience is not the type to enjoy paying for anything. For three euros more, I comfortably sleep across two seats during the nearly six-hour journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s simply incredible.<\/strong>
Twenty minutes ago, I was laughing at myself. About ninety-five \u00ab\u00a0pages\u00a0\u00bb have been scribbled in the note-taking app, some long, some short. The beauty of it is that I don’t write in chronological order at all. For example, two days later, a thought about Park G\u00fcell came to mind. Then something else came to mind for a completely different topic. There are millions of examples like this. The end result: it’s impossible to keep track of when and where I take notes. Many previous trips haven’t been blogged for this reason because the notes are mixed up, and it costs me less energy to go back to the destination site and start over from the beginning. Even now, they will be posted only because I am on leave throughout November (for simplicity, let’s put it that way). It would be good if I always used my small A\/7-sized notebook (but I don’t use much paper, I gave away my pens). Now, I would simply cut the back of the small notebook and stick the pieces on the wall of my room. Of course, it would still take me a day to put them all in order. In what chronological order? As it actually happened, or how I will link them to each other on the blog? My God, too many topics, it’s too much chaos anyway. Maybe the best thing would be to set aside these writings now, and when I get home, I’ll put the app on the TV screen and start \u00ab\u00a0puzzling.\u00a0\u00bb Then, I’ll note what disappeared faster: the hot chocolate or my patience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m looking forward to coming home for one thing.<\/strong>
I finally want to take a long, hot shower. Because in warmer regions, it’s not obvious to have hot water. Which, in my opinion, is quite logical, because it’s hot outside, so most of the time, I don’t feel like using hot water. For example, in Greece, what a solar collector can provide in a day is entirely sufficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The current accommodation<\/strong>
is not the best, but I recommend it without hesitation. I like that this hostel doesn’t try to be more than it really is: a cheap accommodation in the city center. It’s a kind of dormitory, but a decent one! I can only praise the cleanliness, the work of the reception. What I didn’t like: the two shower cabins on a corridor are not enough. Every morning,
my first stop was the cafe. I liked the long counter in the room that you could walk around. I also liked that – as in many places in this city – since it’s always nice in winter and summer, the presence of the front door is optional. As if I were sitting on a large terrace. By the way, the coffee cost 1.75\u20ac, a normal price here. And they served real espresso. Not like in France, where often even trendy places use vending machines, which could be good (see: Nespresso industrial machines), but most of the time, they are set to dilute the coffee. Again, the feeling: I wouldn’t complain if the bus turned back under me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My breakfast<\/strong>
is very simple and monotonous. I got used to eating only a pastry in the morning since my last job. Moreover, it also shows in my food. Last year, I only made salads, this year, every day, I prepared charcuterie platters for the guests of the day. So, a few vegetables, a few slices of ham, a fresh (!) baguette, it’s always appropriate and enjoyable food. So, after the morning coffee, the bakery: (baguette: 1.1\u20ac) and at the grocery store, some grapes \/ peppers \/ olives (1.7\u20ac) and a small portion of chorizo (1.9\u20ac). It can be comfortably eaten sitting on a bench. In the afternoon, a small treat or a small fruit is enough for me. In the evening, I’ll go sit somewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I travel in a hoodie.<\/strong>
I pull the hood completely over my head; I didn’t notice when we stopped somewhere and turned on the light. I should have gotten off in N\u00eemes, but I slept. Then I’ll get off in Avignon. Maybe it’s better this way. From Avignon, I have several connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An interesting fact about languages.<\/strong>
It comes to my mind now in relation to Barcelona. More than once, I’ve seen things written in Spanish and Chinese, not in English. Or the other way around. Info is in Catalan, Spanish, French, and below, in English. By the way, if by chance I spoke French instead of English, they switched without a problem. It seemed they spoke French better. So, an average Catalan shopkeeper \/ waiter speaks four languages. And an average shopkeeper in Budapest?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is French logic?<\/strong>
An example of this is the numbering of tracks in Avignon. Normally, the closest one is 1, then 2, 3, 4, and so on. In Avignon: 2, A, B, C, D, E, F, 1. Which doesn’t bother them at all because they display everything zealously. They provide abundant information about everything. Because track A used to be the first railway embankment, then later the train even parked in front of the station building, and years later, the station was expanded, new tracks were added, but by that time, the use of letters instead of numbers became fashionable. Montpellier is the most amusing. There, they raised the station building above the tracks. It’s a brilliant idea in itself. Only, the exits of the tracks couldn’t be placed obviously. That’s why each track also has a color, and the passenger only has to follow the colored stripes painted on the floor throughout the building’s area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunrise<\/strong>
through the train window. It’s good like this. I have half an hour in Arles; I’ll go down to the riverbank. It’s beautiful. The still pink sky is reflected on the entire water surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Postscript<\/strong>
after a busy week. I’ll finish the joke. I spent six hours sorting the note sheets on Tuesday night before I could start writing the draft. I’ve made eleven so far. This was the tenth. I’ll come back with a much more objective city description.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
