2023 December 09.
Still a weekend, but no longer a Saturday. More like Sunday morning.
I wanted to take advantage of the fact that the nightclub was open that night. I took the last bus into town. I mean\u2026 Not the bus. Because at the bus stop I realised I was wearing a big coat and slippers. It’s not cold here in slippers, but on the way home on the scooter I’d be cold. I ended up riding my scooter back into town – now with shoes on. But if I had read in time that there was a party in the next village, I would have been much better off. Instead, I went to the Irish pub and gulped down two pints of beer while listening to the live concert. That was the end of the evening. I got used to the alcohol, I got dizzy.
I went over to the disco, but I didn’t like the music and, tipsy as I was, I didn’t want to drink any more. I stayed for a while and looked around. I made a note to myself that if I took back all the empty glasses I had left behind, I would be rich. Anyway, I still had enough money for a sandwich on the way home.
The journey home took three hours. In the summer it would have taken forty minutes. Because the scooter died on the way. I’d saved money on the battery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2023 Le 09 d\u00e9cembre.
C’est encore un week-end, mais ce n’est plus un samedi. Plut\u00f4t un dimanche \u00e0 l’aube.
Je voulais profiter du fait que la bo\u00eete de nuit \u00e9tait ouverte ce soir-l\u00e0. J’ai pris le dernier bus pour la ville. Enfin\u2026 Pas le bus. Parce qu’\u00e0 l’arr\u00eat, j’ai remarqu\u00e9 que je portais un gros manteau et des pantoufles. Il ne fait pas froid ici en pantoufles, mais sur le chemin du retour en scooter, j’aurais froid. J’ai fini par rentrer en ville en scooter, mais avec des chaussures. Mais si j’avais lu \u00e0 temps qu’il y avait une f\u00eate dans le village voisin, j’aurais \u00e9t\u00e9 bien mieux loti. Au lieu de cela, je suis all\u00e9 au pub irlandais et, tout en \u00e9coutant le concert en direct, j’ai aval\u00e9 deux pintes de bi\u00e8re. C’est ainsi que la soir\u00e9e s’est termin\u00e9e. Je me suis habitu\u00e9 \u00e0 l’alcool, j’ai eu des vertiges.
Je suis all\u00e9e \u00e0 la discoth\u00e8que, mais je n’aimais pas la musique et, pompette, je ne voulais plus boire. Je suis rest\u00e9e un moment \u00e0 regarder autour de moi. Je me suis dit que si je reprenais tous les verres vides que j’avais laiss\u00e9s derri\u00e8re moi, je deviendrais riche. Quoi qu’il en soit, il me restait assez d’argent pour m’acheter un sandwich sur le chemin du retour.
Ce trajet a dur\u00e9 trois heures. La m\u00eame chose, en \u00e9t\u00e9, quarante minutes. Parce que le scooter est mort en route. J’avais \u00e9conomis\u00e9 sur la batterie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
