Les Monument’Arles
A kultúra városa életre kel egy hétvégére.
Arles nemcsak híres történelmi örökségéről, hanem lüktető kulturális életéről is ismert. eme eseménysorozat újabb bizonyítéka annak, hogy ez a város valóban a művészetek otthona. Egy különleges hétvége látványos produkciókkal, fényekkel, zenével – és némi légi mutatvánnyal.
Arles, 2025.10.19., vasárnap
Ez egy péntektől vasárnapig tartó eseménysorozat; nem az első alkalommal kerül megrendezésre.
Ebben a városban minden hónapra jut egy kulturális fesztivál. Ennek fényében nem meglepő, ha a polgármester a „kultúra fővárosa” kifejezést használja.
Ezáltal visszaigazolást nyer az a gondolatom, hogy ez tényleg amolyan kis művész lelkeknek való hely.
Péntek este láttam a nyitóeseményt. A városháza előtt egy férfi egy emelet magasan zongorázott, úgy, hogy a zongora teteje függőlegesbe volt állítva. A partnere pedig táncolt – hol a zongorán, hol a levegőben egy kötélen.
A záróeseménnyel szerencsém volt, mert amíg tartott és amíg bringáztam, pont nem esett az eső. Ez is szabadtéren zajlott, az arénában.
Ha kategorizálni kellene, akkor ez egy modern cirkuszi produkció volt.
Az akrobaták táncoltak, vagy akrobatikus mutatványokat mutattak be – vagy egyszerre mindkettőt.
Az egész előadás témája a fény és a tűz volt.
Az aréna hatalmas homokos területét egy óriási nappalivá rendezték be, ahol a szükségesnél jóval több olvasó- és állólámpa volt.
A háttértáncosok is hatalmas olvasólámpáknak voltak öltözve.
Nagyon jól használták ki a hatalmas teret.
Óriás méretű füstgépeket hoztak. Amikor az akrobatikus mutatvány zajlott, akkor apró piros szív alakú konfettiket szórtak a levegőbe – perceken keresztül.
Amikor egy-egy műsorelem a legfeszültebb pillanatához érkezett, egy tűzijáték rakétát is fellőttek.
Volt tűznyelés, fáklyadobálás, tánc görög tűzzel.
A fényekkel is játszottak. Például, amikor a hatalmas hulahopp karikával táncoltak, lehúzták a fényeket, viszont a karikán felkapcsolták a LED-szalagot.
A végén nyert értelmet, hogy az aréna egyharmada miért volt lezárva: az üres sorokból egy öt perces tűzijátékot lőttek fel.
Ez az aréna a belváros legsűrűbb, kétezer éves részén van. Hatásos volt, ahogy visszhangzott a belváros – ritka látvány, amikor egy fallal körbevett területről közvetlenül a fejünk fölé lőnek fel rakétákat.
A füst ott maradt az arénában, az átszínezett füstfelhők felett pedig ott repült a csillogás.
A city of culture bursts into life for one weekend
Arles is not only known for its historical heritage but also for its vibrant cultural scene. The Les Monument’Arles weekend proves once again that this town is truly a haven for creative souls. A magical blend of light, music, aerial art and theatre – all under the open sky.

This is a weekend-long event, running from Friday to Sunday – and not for the first time.
In this town, every month brings a cultural festival. So it’s no surprise the mayor likes to call it “the capital of culture.”
It confirms my feeling that this really is a place for little artistic souls.
On Friday night, I saw the opening show. In front of the town hall, a man played the piano one storey up, with the piano’s top standing vertically. His partner danced – sometimes on the piano, sometimes in mid-air, suspended on a rope.
I got lucky with the closing show – it didn’t rain while I was biking and the show was on. It was also held outdoors, in the arena.
If I had to categorize it, I’d call it a modern circus performance.
The acrobats danced or performed acrobatic stunts – sometimes both at once.
The entire theme was about light and fire.
They turned the arena’s sandy floor into a giant living room, filled with way more floor and reading lamps than necessary.
The background dancers were even dressed as giant reading lamps.
They used the huge space very effectively.
They brought in massive smoke machines. During the acrobatic scenes, tiny red heart-shaped confetti rained down for minutes.
At the most intense parts of the show, fireworks were launched.
There was fire swallowing, torch tossing, and dancing with Greek fire.
They played with lights too. For example, when dancing with a giant hula hoop, they dimmed the lights – but lit up the LED strip on the hoop.
At the end, it made sense why one-third of the arena was closed off: from the empty seats, they launched a five-minute firework show.
The arena is in the densest, 2,000-year-old part of the city. It was dramatic how the sound echoed through the old town – a rare sight, fireworks launched from inside the walls, directly above our heads.
The smoke lingered inside the arena, and above the colored clouds shimmered the sparks.
So yes – it was a great show!

Une ville culturelle s’anime le temps d’un week-end
Arles n’est pas seulement riche en histoire, elle vibre aussi au rythme des arts. Le week-end des Monument’Arles en est la preuve éclatante : ici, la culture prend vraiment vie. Un spectacle à ciel ouvert mêlant feu, lumière, danse et acrobaties aériennes.

C’est un événement qui se déroule du vendredi au dimanche – ce n’est pas la première édition.
Dans cette ville, chaque mois accueille un festival culturel. Il n’est donc pas étonnant que le maire la qualifie de « capitale de la culture ».
Cela confirme mon impression : c’est un lieu fait pour les âmes artistiques.
Vendredi soir, j’ai assisté au spectacle d’ouverture. Devant l’hôtel de ville, un homme jouait du piano à un étage de hauteur, avec le piano placé à la verticale. Sa partenaire dansait – tantôt sur le piano, tantôt suspendue à une corde.
J’ai eu de la chance avec le spectacle de clôture – il n’a pas plu pendant que je faisais du vélo et que la représentation avait lieu. Elle se tenait également en plein air, dans l’arène.
Si je devais la classer, je dirais que c’était une performance de cirque moderne.
Les acrobates dansaient ou exécutaient des figures acrobatiques – parfois les deux en même temps.
Le thème principal était la lumière et le feu.
L’arène avait été transformée en un immense salon, avec beaucoup plus de lampes que nécessaire.
Même les danseurs de fond étaient déguisés en grandes lampes de lecture.
L’espace immense a été parfaitement exploité.
Ils ont apporté d’énormes machines à fumée. Pendant les numéros acrobatiques, de petits confettis en forme de cœur rouge tombaient du ciel pendant plusieurs minutes.
Aux moments les plus intenses, des feux d’artifice étaient tirés.
Il y avait de l’avalage de feu, des lancers de torches, et une danse avec le feu grec.
Ils ont aussi joué avec les lumières. Par exemple, pendant la danse avec un immense cerceau lumineux, les lumières de l’arène étaient éteintes, mais les LED du cerceau s’allumaient.
À la fin, on comprenait pourquoi un tiers de l’arène était fermé : un feu d’artifice de cinq minutes a été lancé depuis les gradins vides.
Cette arène est située au cœur de la vieille ville, dans une zone vieille de deux mille ans. L’écho des explosions dans le centre-ville était impressionnant – c’est rare de voir des fusées tirées au-dessus de nos têtes dans un espace entouré de murs anciens.
La fumée est restée piégée dans l’arène, et au-dessus des nuages colorés flottaient les étincelles brillantes.
Bref, c’était un excellent spectacle !
