Zalai kanyarok és kastélyárnyékok
Van, ahol egy pályaudvar már önmagában hangulatjelentés, máshol egy kastély csak felhős időben „az igazi”. Zala pedig az a vidék, ahol reggel madárnézés, délben bivalysimogatás, este dödölle és bor is teljesen életszerű program. Nagykanizsát is ezért szeretem: nyugalom, szép belváros, és a turista ritkán ideges
2025 novemberében Magyarországon jártam. Néhány felkeresett helyszínről fogok most mesélni, pont úgy, ahogy megmaradt bennem.
Keszthely
Ha szeretnél egy pár száz éves kastélyt a saját kontextusában csodálni, akkor ide gyere! Mármint, ha felhős az idő. Amúgy sétálj egy jólesőt az esküvői helyszíntől az egykori egyetemi csónakházig.
Az első Festeticsek már egy jól működő városban telepedtek le, és építettek: először egyetemet, könyvtárat, kikötőt.
Aztán a szocializmusban kitöltötték betonnal a partot, és létrejött a legendás borfesztiválok helyszíne.
Igen, a part a legjobb hely arra, hogy egy lány csókot karaokézzon a kiszemeltje szájába.
Zala
A kérdés az, hogy előbb áztassuk a csülkünket, vagy bringázzunk a dombok között. Az biztos, hogy este a dödölle mellé bort iszunk.
Kevés az a régió, ahol viszonylag közel egymáshoz ennyiféle program zajlik: Reggel megnézzük a madarakat a Kis-Balaton felett, majd megsimogatjuk a bivalyokat. Délután séta a vétyemi Ősbükkös árnyékában. Vacsora az Őrségben.
Másnap, visszafelé álljunk meg a göcseji falumúzeumnál, majd gyönyörködjünk az azáleák virágzásában a völgyben.
Aztán vegyük célba a keszthelyi hegység barlangjait, várait, panorámáit.
Este meg nézzük meg a naplementét a Vonyarci Mihály-kápolna teraszáról.
Habár, a legszebb ölelkezések egy szabadtéri buli utáni napkeltekor teremnek.
Nagykanizsa
Csak mert szép a belvárosa. Mert jó a megközelíthetősége.
Hát itt aztán kevés dolog miatt idegeskedik egy turista! Nyugodtság van, csinos neobarokk és klasszicista épületek. Alacsonyan repkednek az árcédulák, jók a helyi ételek és sütemények.
Viszont, ha megint itt kellene laknom, akkor a reményt azt nem a hétköznapokban találnám meg.
Például itt ez a pályaudvar tényleg olyan, mint egy parasztelosztó. A piac pedig: van tíz kocsma, de kereskedelem… alig.

Zala Turns and Castle Shadows
Some places announce themselves right at the train station; others only truly work under a cloudy sky, with a castle setting the mood. And Zala is the kind of region where birdwatching at dawn, buffalo petting at noon, and wine with dödölle at night all feel perfectly normal. Add Nagykanizsa’s calm center, and you’ve got a trip that stays with you.

This railway station really is like a rural distribution market: there are ten pubs, but commerce… barely.
Keszthely
If you want to admire a several-hundred-year-old palace in your own little conspiracy-haze, come here! I mean—if the weather is cloudy. Otherwise, take a pleasant walk from the wedding venue to the former university boathouse.
The first Festetics settled in what was already a well-functioning town and built—first—a university, a library, and a harbour. Then, under socialism, they paved the shoreline in concrete, and the legendary wine-festival venue was born. Yes: the waterfront is the best place for a girl to karaoke a kiss straight onto the mouth of her chosen one.
Zala
The question is: do we soak in a hot tub first, or cycle between the hills? One thing is certain—at night, we drink wine alongside dödölle.
There are few regions where so many different programs happen so close to each other:
In the morning we watch birds above Kis-Balaton, then we pet the buffalo.
In the afternoon, a walk in the shade of the ancient beech forest at Vétyem.
Dinner in Őrség.
The next day, on the way back, we stop at the Göcsej open-air village museums, then admire the azaleas blooming in the valley. After that, we aim for the caves, the castle, and the panoramas of the Keszthely Hills. In the evening, we watch the sunset from the terrace of the Mihály Chapel in Vanyarc. Though the most beautiful kisses grow at sunrise, after an outdoor party.
Nagykanizsa
Simply because the downtown is beautiful. Because it’s easy to reach. Here, a tourist has very little to get nervous about! There’s calm, pretty neo-baroque and neoclassical buildings, price tags flying low, and great local food and pastries. Still—if I had to live here again, I wouldn’t find hope in the everyday routine.

Virages de Zala et ombres de château
Parfois, l’ambiance commence dès la gare; parfois, un château ne révèle vraiment son charme que sous un ciel couvert. Et Zala, c’est cette région où l’on passe naturellement de l’observation des oiseaux à l’aube, aux bison(t)s à midi, puis au vin et à la dödölle le soir. Ajoutez la tranquillité de Nagykanizsa, et vous obtenez un voyage qui s’accroche à la mémoire.

Cette gare ressemble vraiment à un marché de “répartition paysanne” : il y a dix bistrots, mais du commerce… presque pas.
Keszthely
Si tu veux admirer un château vieux de plusieurs siècles dans ta propre petite brume de “complot”, viens ici ! Enfin… si le temps est nuageux. Sinon, fais une promenade agréable du lieu de mariage jusqu’à l’ancien hangar à bateaux de l’université.
Les premiers Festetics se sont installés dans une ville déjà bien organisée et ont construit—d’abord—une université, une bibliothèque, un port. Puis, sous le socialisme, on a coulé du béton sur la rive et le lieu mythique des festivals du vin est né. Oui: le bord de l’eau est le meilleur endroit pour qu’une fille “karaoké” un baiser directement sur la bouche de celui qu’elle a choisi.
Zala
La question, c’est : on se trempe d’abord dans un bain chaud, ou on pédale entre les collines ? Une chose est sûre : le soir, on boit du vin avec la dödölle.
Il existe peu de régions où autant d’activités différentes se trouvent si proches les unes des autres :
Le matin, on observe les oiseaux au-dessus du Kis-Balaton, puis on caresse les buffles.
L’après-midi, promenade à l’ombre de la forêt de hêtres ancestrale de Vétyem.
Dîner en Őrség.
Le lendemain, au retour, on s’arrête aux musées-villages en plein air de Göcsej, puis on admire les azalées en fleurs dans la vallée. Ensuite, on vise les grottes, le château et les panoramas des collines de Keszthely. Le soir, on regarde le coucher du soleil depuis la terrasse de la chapelle Saint-Mihály à Vanyarc. Même si les plus beaux baisers naissent au lever du soleil, après une fête en plein air.

Juste parce que le centre-ville est beau. Parce que c’est facile d’accès. Ici, un touriste a vraiment peu de raisons de s’énerver ! Il y a du calme, de jolis bâtiments néo-baroques et néoclassiques, des étiquettes de prix qui volent bas, et d’excellents plats et pâtisseries locales. Pourtant, si je devais y vivre à nouveau, ce n’est pas dans le quotidien que je trouverais l’espoir.
