I have no issue with the remaining staff at the hotel watching what I do and taking photos of my room since I have nothing to hide anyway. However, it was a bit uncomfortable when I wanted to heat up dinner in the kitchen in the evening, but the kitchen was locked with a key. As the garage is also locked with a key, I no longer store my bike there. I don’t understand why there is a need for such tight control. Actually, I don’t even want to understand! I don’t need this. Despite my efforts to stay here in France, it doesn’t seem to work. I don’t need these conflicts.

Postscript a week later: I sent the above text to the maintenance guy, who explained that it wasn’t him but the receptionist.

I had another conversation with an acquaintance in the hospitality industry, and again, it occurred to me that two-thirds of people in hospitality are alcoholics to some extent. I don’t hate drinkers; I just don’t want to be a part of it. I don’t want to talk to a single drunk person. Let every alcohol consumer enjoy themselves; I have no objections. When I think someone is drunk, I leave them alone. Until they sober up.

Je ne vois aucun inconvénient à ce que le reste du personnel de l’hôtel observe ce que je fais et prenne des photos de ma chambre, car je n’ai aucun secret de toute façon. J’étais un peu mal à l’aise lorsque j’ai voulu réchauffer le dîner dans la cuisine le soir, mais la cuisine était fermée avec une clé. Comme le garage est également fermé à clé, je n’y range plus mon vélo. Je ne comprends pas pourquoi un contrôle aussi strict est nécessaire. En fait, je ne veux même pas le comprendre ! Je n’en ai pas besoin. J’ai vraiment tout fait pour rester en France. Mais ce n’est pas comme ça que ça marche. Je n’ai pas besoin de ces conflits.

Note de suivi d’une semaine plus tard.

Je discutais avec un ami traiteur et je me suis souvenu que les deux tiers des traiteurs sont plus ou moins alcooliques.
Je ne déteste pas les ivrognes, mais je ne veux pas être un partenaire dans ce domaine. Je ne veux pas parler à une seule personne ivre. Amusez-vous bien, vous tous qui buvez de l’alcool, je n’y vois pas d’inconvénient. Quand je pense que quelqu’un est ivre, je le laisse tranquille. Tant qu’ils sont ivres.

Azzal semmi bajom, hogy a hotel maradék személyzete figyeli mikor mit csinálok és fotózza a szobámat, hiszen amúgy sincsen titkom. Az viszont már kissé kényelmetlenül érintett, amikor este vacsorát akartam melegíteni magamnak a konyhában, de a konyha be volt zárva kulccsal. Mivel hogy a garázs is kulccsal van zárva,ezért a kerékpáromat már nem ott tárolom. Én nem értem miért van szükség ilyen szoros kontrollra. Valójában nem is akarom megérteni! Nekem erre nincs szükségem.  Pedig én tényleg mindent megtettem, hogy itt maradjak Franciaországban. Deh ez így nem megy. Nekem ezekre a konfliktusokra semmi szükségem.

Utóirat egy héttel későbbről: A fenti szöveget elküldtem a karbantartónak, aki magyarázkodott, hogy nem is ő volt, hanem a recepciós.

Megint beszélgettem egy vendéglátós ismerősömnél és megint eszembe jutott, hogy a vendéglátósok kétharmada alkoholista valamilyen mértékben.
Nem utálom a részegeket, csak nem szeretnék ebben partner lenni. Egyetlen részeg emberrel sem szeretnék beszélgetni . Érezze jól magát minden alkohol fogyasztó, nincs ellenvetésem. Akkor, amikor úgy gondolom, hogy valaki részeg, magára hagyom. Addig amíg részeg.
