You spread out a massive net. Everywhere. This is where the olive tree’s fruit will fall. They said this in Corfu Island. Well, here we grab a branch and simply pull the harvest off – into the basket.
Only for the larger trees, we lay out a net, and there, not by hand but with an electric device resembling a rake, we shake the fruit off the tree. A fifty-year-old olive tree is still considered young. It bears its first harvest around that age. That’s why these plantations are so valuable. This estate began to take shape in the sixties on the site of a former bauxite mine. The old man who founded the estate even showed the underground mining tunnels, which now function as simple wine cellars. On the site of the former red earth, young orchards are now growing. One basket roughly equals twenty kilograms of olive berries. A quite young, just fifty years old tree yields one basket of olives.
The old, former founder guy is a really good guy. I’ve grown quite fond of him. I would gladly help him more. Nice guy, I would like to chat with him some more.

Te déroules un filet immense. Partout. C’est là que tombera la récolte de l’olivier. Ils disaient cela sur l’île de Corfou. Eh bien, ici, nous attrapons une branche et simplement secouons les fruits – dans le panier.
Seuls les arbres plus grands sont couverts d’un filet, et là, non pas à la main, mais avec un dispositif électrique ressemblant à un râteau, nous secouons la récolte de l’arbre. Un olivier de cinquante ans est encore considéré comme jeune. Il donne sa première récolte vers cet âge. C’est pourquoi ces plantations sont si précieuses. Ce domaine a commencé à prendre forme dans les années soixante sur le site d’une ancienne mine de bauxite. Le vieil homme fondateur a même montré les tunnels miniers souterrains, qui fonctionnent maintenant comme de simples caves à vin. Sur le site de l’ancienne terre rouge, de jeunes vergers poussent maintenant. Un panier équivaut à environ vingt kilogrammes de baies d’olivier. Un arbre assez jeune, juste cinquante ans, donne un panier d’olives.
Le vieux fondateur est vraiment sympa. Je me suis beaucoup attaché à lui. J’aimerais bien l’aider davantage. Bon gars, j’aimerais discuter plus avec lui.

Csupán a nagyobb fáknál terítünk ki hálót és ott nem kézzel hanem egy gereblyének látszó elektromos szerkezettel lerázzuk a fáról a termést. Egy ötven éves olíva fa még fiatalnak számít. Akkoriba hozza az első termését. Ezért is olyan értékesek ezek az ültetvények. Ez a birtok a hatvanas években kezdett el kialakulni egy egykori bauxitbánya helyén. Mutatta is az egykori birtok alapító bácsi a föld alatti kis bánya járatokat , amik ma már sima boros pinceként funkcionálnak. Az egykori vörös föld helyén pedig fiatal ültetvények nőnek. Egy kosár az nagyjából húsz kilogramm olíva bogyót jelent. Egy egészen fiatal éppen ötven éves fa az egy kosár olívát ad.
Az öreg, egykori alapító bácsi egészen jó arc. Teljesen megkedveltem. Nagyon szívesen segítenék még a neki. Jó arc, szeretnék még vele beszélgetni.
