Ők is jónak születtek

Az utolsó napra valahogy kisimul minden: az idegesség átfordul megértésbe, sőt, egyfajta játékos elfogadásba. A túlárazás, a taxisok, a homok – mind ugyanannak a gömbnek a részei. És a végén ott marad egy fontos mondat: ők is jónak születtek.

Az a jó az utolsó napban, hogy addigra már minden idegeskedés élménnyé szelídül.

Már nem zavar, ha három deci gyümölcsléért száz fontot kérnek, miközben ugyanannyi víz csak öt fontba kerül.

A percenkénti taxis hiénáktól már nem akarom megkérdezni, hogy mégis mit remélnek; úgy fogom fel, mint egy játékot, melynél a level kettes szint a huszadannyiba kerülő iránytaxi.

Így kerek az egész.
Vagyis inkább gömb.
Akár egy hógömb.
Csak itt homokot kever a szél.

Igaz, hogy a homok valójában magára hagyott kvarckristály?
Ezeket az embereket is magukra hagyták.
Az ő kis, magukra hagyott gömbjük alján korallok tündökölnek.
Ki tudja, mi mindent rejt a homokfelhő.

Hát ne sajnáljunk a helyiektől (viszonylag) túlárazott szuvenírt venni.
Higgyük el, hogy nekik kenyérre kell a pénz.

Azt meg sose felejtsük, hogy ezek az emberek is jónak születtek.

At the bottom of their small, abandoned globe, corals shimmer.
Who knows what the sand cloud hides.

So let’s not begrudge buying a (relatively) overpriced souvenir from the locals.
Believe that for them, the money is for bread.

And let’s never forget that these people were born good too.

Eux aussi sont nés bons

Le dernier jour, l’agacement finit par se transformer en vécu. Les prix, les taxis “hyènes”, le sable porté par le vent : tout devient une sorte de boule à neige étrange. Et au fond, il reste une phrase essentielle : eux aussi sont nés bons.
