Például, ahol hétfőn strandoltam. Montpellier Coquille plage bárja, ami fából készült. A veranda közepén egy pult, amit én szabadtéri konyhának használnék. A konyha tálalópultját használnám barnakő, ahol fal helyett már most is csak egy ablak keret van. Oda felvennék valakit, aki a napágyas részt is intézi. A padlástérben kialakítanék egy hálót és egy könyvtár szobát. Ez egy homokos tengerpart, ahol mindíg morajlik a tenger.
An ideal place in the world for me would be the Coquille Plage bar in Montpellier, where I spent my Monday. It’s a bar made of wood, with a central counter on the veranda that I would use as an outdoor kitchen. I’d replace the kitchen’s countertop with brown stone, leaving just a window frame instead of a wall. I’d hire someone to take care of the lounging area. Up in the attic, I’d create a bedroom and a library. It’s a sandy beach where the sea always murmurs.
Un endroit idéal dans le monde pour moi serait le bar Coquille Plage à Montpellier, où j’ai passé mon lundi. C’est un bar en bois, avec un comptoir central sur la véranda que j’utiliserais comme cuisine en plein air. Je remplacerais le comptoir de la cuisine par de la pierre brune, laissant juste un cadre de fenêtre au lieu d’un mur. J’embaucherais quelqu’un pour s’occuper de la partie des chaises longues. Dans le grenier, je créerais une chambre à coucher et une bibliothèque. C’est une plage de sable où la mer murmure toujours.
September 18, 2023, Monday.
The usual weekend routine: I head down to the sea. This time it’s Montpellier. Shopping, a stroll in the city, and then late afternoon down to the beach. Along with the walk, it’s about an hour away from the city center. I chose a different beach this time. Contrary to its name, plage du coquille, it didn’t have any shells. The usual formula: sunshine, sand, and the rolling sea. Even though it’s become a pattern in my calendar, it’s still fantastic: watching the waves during sunset.
I found tranquility.
Because I’ve come to the end of a busy weekend.
It’s only when I arrive home around midnight that I realize there’s a little extra. Z is sitting on the terrace, a bit tipsy, telling me that today he told the truth to every manager. He really just reflected reality – while intoxicated. But well, the truth hurts people the most. Especially those things that were right in front of their noses all along. He told the chef that he’s unprepared, the director that he’s clueless. In the evening, the cook kid asked him to please keep quiet next time, even if he’s drinking, and kindly not get completely drunk on the staff’s terrace. He didn’t quite grasp the suggestion. I’m curious about the aftermath of this scandal.
18 septembre 2023, lundi.
La routine habituelle du week-end : je descends à la mer. Cette fois-ci, c’est à Montpellier. Faire les courses, se promener en ville, puis en fin d’après-midi, direction la plage. Avec la promenade, c’est à environ une heure du centre-ville. J’ai choisi une autre plage cette fois. Contrairement à son nom, la plage du coquille, il n’y avait pas de coquillages. La formule habituelle : soleil, sable, mer agitée. Même si cela est devenu une habitude dans mon calendrier, c’est toujours fantastique : regarder les vagues pendant le coucher du soleil.
J’ai trouvé la tranquillité.
Parce que j’ai atteint la fin d’un week-end bien rempli.
Ce n’est que quand je rentre chez moi vers minuit que je réalise qu’il y a un petit supplément. Z est assis sur la terrasse, un peu pompette, me racontant qu’aujourd’hui il a dit la vérité à chaque responsable. Il a vraiment juste reflété la réalité – tout en étant ivre. Mais bon, la vérité fait le plus mal aux gens. Surtout à propos de ces choses qui étaient sous leur nez depuis le début. Il a dit au chef qu’il n’était pas préparé, au directeur qu’il était à la ramasse. Le soir, le jeune cuisinier lui a demandé de bien vouloir rester tranquille la prochaine fois, même s’il boit, et de ne pas se saouler complètement sur la terrasse du personnel. Il n’a pas vraiment compris la suggestion. Je suis curieux de voir les conséquences de ce scandale.
2023. szeptember 18. Hétfő.
A szokásos hétvégi program: megyek le a tengerre. Ezúttal Montpellier. Bevásárlás, séta a városban, majd késő délután le a tengerhez. Sétával együtt egy órányira van a belvárostól. Most másik strandot választottam. A plage du coquille a nevével ellentétben nem tartalmazott kagylókat. A szokásos képlet: napfény, homok, hullámzó tenger. Hiába lett belőle sorminta a naptáramban, azért ez így fantasztikus: nézni a hullámokat a naplementében.
Lenyugodtam.
Ugyanis mozgalmas hétvégének értem a végére.
Azt majd csak az éjfél körüli haza érkezésemkor tapasztalom, hogy van egy kis ráadás. Z a teraszon ül berúgva és azt meséli, hogy ő ma minden vezetőnek megmondta az igazat. Tényleg csak a valóságot tükrözte vissza – ittasan. Deh hát az embereknek az igazság fáj a legjobban.Főként, azon dolgok, amik eddig is ott voltak az orruk előtt. A séfnek megmondta, hogy felkészületlen, az igazgatónak, hogy nincs képben. Este a szakács gyerek megkérte, hogy legközelebb kussoljon, ha
iszik is egyáltalán, legyen kedves nem a személyzet pihenős teraszán lerészegedni. A felvetést sem értette. Kíváncsi leszek a botrány utóhatásaira.
