Night Festival Experiences in Fontvieille

Even though I had a really exhausting day on Friday, it didn’t stop me from enjoying the evening. There’s another festival in the neighboring village of Fontvieille, this time featuring bull running. And in the evening, there’s Bodega, whose exact meaning I still don’t know, and I don’t really understand these series of events, but one thing’s for sure, if they say Bodega, there will be outdoor dancing somewhere. And that’s how it was, both on Friday and Saturday night.

I had about three glasses of beer. I was so thirsty! (Next time, I’ll drink more water while working.) I took the two small glasses I got at the party to the staff canteen. They even remarked that I must be hungover. No way, I just had a tough week, I’m tired!

The challenge of talking to strangers didn’t happen today either, but it’s okay because at least I danced a little among strangers. The next challenge is to participate in a game that I only know as “rowing.” It’s a bit like when in Hungary the song “the train won’t wait” starts playing and everyone starts dancing in the form of a train. Here, there’s a typical music that I find very pleasant, and when it plays, some people sit on the ground with their legs spread out so they can sit closely behind each other, using their hands to perform some kind of wave movement, while others jump onto the wave, just like when the singer jumps from the stage into the crowd. So, they jump over the waving motion and let their hands guide them along the line, and at the end, they sit behind the last person. It’s quite a spectacular scene.

Anyway, I was already asleep at one in the morning. I was tired on Friday, and on Saturday, I went to sleep without the first raindrop. I was watching the weather and knew that a summer shower was approaching.
